Seaside Starlight Slumber

The night sea lies calm under the starry sky, like a vast piece of dark blue silk stretched out to the horizon. You lie in a small cottage by the beach, with the window wide open, letting in the salty breeze and the soft glow of distant starlight.

The waves roll gently toward the shore, their rhythm slow and steady—”shush… shush…”—like a mother humming a lullaby next to her child’s bed. Each wave creeps up the sand, kissing the smooth pebbles, then retreats softly, leaving a trail of glistening wet marks that sparkle under the stars. The sound wraps around you, warm and reassuring, as if holding you in a gentle embrace.

The sea breeze carries a faint scent of salt and seaweed, fresh and clean. Breathing it in deeply, you feel the tension in your chest melt away, and your shoulders drop softly. The breeze brushes against your cheeks, cool but not cold, like a light caress that lulls your senses into calm.

You look up at the sky through the window: countless stars dot the dark canvas, twinkling faintly, not bright enough to dazzle, but soft enough to soothe. The moon hangs low over the sea, a pale silver disc, casting a long, shimmering path across the water. The waves gently ripple this silver path, turning it into a stream of liquid light that sways slowly with the tides.

Occasionally, a distant seagull utters a low cry, its voice drifting across the water, light and fleeting, before fading into the night. There are no other sounds—no loud conversations, no clattering of cars, only the steady rhythm of the waves, the soft rustle of the breeze through the cottage’s wooden walls, and your own slow, even breathing.

You feel your body growing lighter and lighter, as if floating on the surface of the calm sea. Your arms relax by your sides, your legs go limp, and every muscle in your body softens. The worries and thoughts of the day drift away like sea foam, carried off by the retreating waves, leaving your mind empty and peaceful.

The waves continue their gentle lullaby, “shush… shush…”, and the starlight shimmers softly. Your eyelids grow heavier and heavier, as if lined with velvet. You blink slowly, once, twice, and then let them close completely. The sea breeze still caresses your skin, the waves still murmur their lullaby, and the stars still twinkle overhead.

Your breathing slows to match the rhythm of the waves—inhale as the wave creeps up the shore, exhale as it retreats. Consciousness grows fuzzy, like looking through a soft mist. The sounds of the sea fade into a gentle hum, and the starlight turns into a warm glow that wraps around you.

Thus, lulled by the sea’s lullaby and the starlight’s embrace, you drift into a deep, peaceful sleep, dreamless and sweet, until the first light of dawn paints the sky pink over the horizon.
